A LITTLE STRUCTURE GOES A LONG WAY

Make the group.
Then make it count.

A random team generator removes one small decision from a busy room. Paste your roster, decide how many groups you need, and use the result as a starting point for your activity.

Choose a group count when you have a fixed number of tables or facilitators. Choose a maximum size when every participant needs enough time to speak. For 23 people and a maximum of five, you get five groups: three of five and two of four.

Is this a wheel spinner or a team generator?

This group-maker workspace focuses on random group assignment; the main site also offers a spinning wheel. It creates the full set of teams at once, and includes an independent one-person random picker. It does not use a spinning-wheel animation.

How are the teams made?

The tool shuffles all roster entries using browser-provided cryptographic randomness and deals them across your groups. Nobody is left out, and sizes differ by at most one. This is for informal activities, not a certified lottery or audited selection process.

Can I balance skill levels or keep people apart?

Not automatically. The tool balances headcounts, not ability, accessibility needs, relationships, or other personal factors. Review groups before using them and make any necessary changes outside the tool.

What does reduce repeat pairings do?

It samples up to 40 shuffles and keeps the one with the fewest pairs shared with your last displayed grouping. It may still repeat pairs, especially in small rosters or large groups. It does not remember an entire session's pairing history.

Can I save or share my teams?

You can explicitly save one roster in this browser and export the displayed groups to a CSV file. Results are not saved between visits. There are no public roster links or cloud accounts. Undo keeps up to 20 group results only while this page remains open.
